Review:
The colorful book-cover and the book-title at once will captivate the young readers. Also, in the introduction, the verses regarding equality from various religious books add more credence to the narration.
With the help of beautiful illustrations by Alvin Adhi and the usage of simple verses, Kameel has depicted the emotional turmoil that young kids go through when they come across new people. We can use this story and characters as an example to explain to our little one the reason to avoid unnecessary prejudice and the meaning of diversity. In the current world, where discrimination for being different is a big concern, I feel this book will motivate the young ones to feel comfortable in their skin.
At the end of the book, there are a few fun activities that will help the kids to revisit the story. It will also help the parents to get an idea regarding the little one’s understanding of the values and morals that Kameel tried to portray through his writing.
Overall, I certainly recommend this book!
Younger kids and toddlers can equally enjoy this book because of the brilliant visual storytelling.
